The Biology of Things was born out of my own not-so-short history of experiences, coupled with the need to find explanations for personal questions of struggle. As Darwin envisioned, the logic of selection dictates the existence of our struggles for survival, challenges that we share with our fellow species.

My dad used to say, lovingly, that I have a very curious mind, and my very dear friend, herself an exceptional woman, insists that writing suits me. It was only natural then, that when I discovered evolutionary psychology after many years of searching for knowledge that would provide answers to my struggles, like a sheltering cave that echoes soothing thoughts on a storm-ravaged beach, I was struck with bolts of joy that made a mark on paper.

Finally, here was a science that unified many truths, a system that made so much sense. But it is no coincidence that evolutionary psychology originates from human socio-biology, because it is in humans, rather than in science, that we find the adaptations, the mechanisms for change, and the resilience to thrive.

The Biology of Things is an account of solutions of understanding, that blend the wisdom of evolutionary psychology with my passions and experiences. It is a system of intelligence, based on the biology of our human nature, that connects our vulnerabilities, our ambitions, and our kindness, in patterns of evolutionary truths that are always worth it.
